The Kids are Ecstatic. It's a "Snow Day"!!!

We are presently having our 2nd blizzard before Christmas. I took the above picture just this morning. I'm posting late, because this biker mom got to sleep in. The school district canceled school today, hence *Snow Day*!!! So I am presently typing this sitting in front of the fire and drinking my morning coffee, while the snow swirls and gusts all around the house outside.

Boy if this keeps up, there won't be much motorcycling this winter *frown*. Unlike some of my blogging scooter friends, who do get out on their scooters in the snow, my cruiser wouldn't do well. Yamaha V-Star 650's aren't built to get out in this stuff, as most cruisers aren't. I'm actually thinking all cruisers, but I might be wrong.

I'm tempted to dig out the movie, "Snow Day," and watch it with my son. That is a hilarious movie. A movie, popcorn and hot cocoa sounds like a great afternoon activity.

So here we just might be getting an actual "White Christmas" this holiday season. Now I will post this and get on with my 12 Days of Christmas. ;)

Brrr - looks cold but it would be nice in front of the fire looking out to that. I don't think I would ride in it though!!

Hope you have a very happy and safe Christmas - have enjoyed your posts this year and look forward to reading plenty more of them.

I will think of you snow bound northerners whilst riding and lying on the beach over my holidays :-) !!

Hi Beaker,

It's cold, but very nice weather for a fire. Thank you and I wish you a very happy and safe Christmas and a Happy New Year. I enjoy your posts and look forward to reading future ones. Especially since you are presently in your summer and able to ride. Have fun on the beach and thanks for not rubbing it in, lol.

Hi KT,

It's beautiful and even though I can't ride, I'm enjoying it. Might as well. The city is now in a state of emergency and I heard that most of the state is paralyzed by this slow moving storm. It got much worse hours later after I took the picture posted.

Kids are happy. They've already announced there is no school tomorrow. My youngest is now officially on his Christmas break. He's doing the "Happy Dance."

Wishing you a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. :)

It's cold here too, and wet. Temp is down to about 59, and more drizzle, DRIZZLE, I shout, is expected. Darn it, I may have to put some gas treatment in the tank if THIS keeps up.

oh my. and to think yesterday, for us, was just a little cold. there isn't a sign of snow on the ground or in the forecast. looks pretty, but definitely a damper on riding. :(

Hi Tinker,
For us 59 degrees would be a welcome. The drizzle is a bummer. I ususally don't get out on my bike when it's drizzling. Just depends on the circumstances. I have been caught in it when on day trips. I always carry my rain gear. Why would you need a gas treatment?

Hi Giest,
So glad to hear your winter is still rideable (is that a word? LOL). I hope it stays that way for you.

Man, you guys have really gotten the SNOW! Glad you're enjoying it; I sure had fun looking at the pictures while I nibbled a Christmas cookie (a gift from a friend; I'm not so good at making cookies.) I hope you and your family have a wonderful White Christmas, and I hope you're able to get that bike out of the garage soon!
Merry Christmas,
DK
