~ The Holiday Blizzard of '06 ~

Yep, that's what they are calling this last blast of snow. The kids have another day off from school and are now officially on their Christmas break. Today was to have been the last day of school till next year. The snow stopped for a little while last night, but by morning it was falling again. But without the wind, it's now not a blizzard. This is the worse snow storm since we moved here from Wyoming in 2000.

Many people are very excited about the prospect of a white Christmas. I have to admit that despite the fact that I can't ride my motorcycle, the snow is awesome! I hope to venture out later today to get some pictures of the beautiful scenery. I've got more Christmas cookies to make today. Yummmmy! I'm just glad I got my Christmas shopping done. Last year this time I was still getting a few things.

As you can see in the photo above, our motorcycles are safely tucked away in the garage. It was snowing when I took that photo. It's not a heated garage, but they are protected from the elements. Someday one of our summer projects is to insulate the garage. We store our sodas in our garage during the winter. On the "really" cold days, they have been known to explode! When we are in the living room or dining room we can hear them when it happens, lol.

Wishing You a White Christmas & A Happy New Year :)

crazy. it's weird to look at that picture and then look out my window. we should be the ones buried under white...lol. by the looks of the weather map it may be heading straight for us though...ugh.

I will cross my fingers that this storm doesn't head your way. Lucky for us, in a few weeks, or maybe sooner, we should be able to get back out on our bikes again.

and that is where i envy you...*sigh*. i could still ride here, but i would have to put the battery back in every morning. that would get a little annoying. i just wish joey would let me park it in the apartment...lol.

I take it the cold effects your battery? I haven't had that problem and we can get incredibly cold here. How old is your battery? Maybe it's time to get a new one.

I can toldly understand Joey's objects, LOL!! Poor Selene. You need to find someplace with a garage.

Meant to say "Joey's objections"

the battery is brand new, but overnight in minus double digit temperatures can have a severe impact on a battery's ability to turn over the engine in the morning. add to that how thick your oil gets and it doesn't take long to drain a small battery.

so...you can totally understand joey's objects hey? LOL. i just about hit the floor when i read that!

i'll have a place for Selene soon, i hope.

Hi Giest, Okay - you win. You're in a colder area then me. Knock on wood, the weather hasn't gotten so cold as to affect my battery yet.

Yea, in reference to "objects," I was mortified at my typo, lol. I did quickly correct it in the next post.

Don't you just want to take the bike around the block in the snow just to say you've done it?!

Hope you get through the blizzard quickly. Still no snow at all here. Looks like we'll have a wet Christmas...

Hi Steve,
Thanks for stopping by. I love reading your blog. No, I have no desire to even take my motorcycle around the block, lol. The road is very slippery and I just know what would happen and it would involve a very embarrassed face.
