In honor of the holiday season, I have come up with my version of
"The Twelve Days of Christmas."

~ Day Eight ~
~ Day Eight ~
On the Eighth day of Christmas my true love gave to me,
8 Kuryakyn floorboards (see 6th day)
7 heated vests (one would be awesome, but the song calls for seven)
6 chrome brake pedal covers (they have been known to fall off my bike, so extra is a good thing)
fiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiive gallons of gaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaas!!!!! (worth gold these days!)
4 shiny chrome crash bars (that stick out so far I can't fall over, lol)
3 years of insurance (full coverage, mind you),
3 years of insurance (full coverage, mind you),
2 heated hand grips (Ya Baby!!!),
And a horn for my motorcycle (made of chrome).

LOL, no. Planning ahead. My bike doesn't even have floorboards. For the long trips I took this last summer, they sure would have been nice. But then I'd have to change out the shifter.
i've tried floorboards, don't like them at all. i feel like i'm giving up some control of the bike. it was weird. i'll stick with my pegs. :)
I've never tried floorboads and not sure if I really will ever put them on. I have wondered if I'd feel the same way as you. Too many other things I want for my motorcycle right now that have priority, lol. There's always something, isn't there?
You are the first one to express a dislike for them. The ones I know that have them on, love them. I know one person was so comfortable that she forgot to put her feet down at a stop sign and fell over, lol. I wasn't with her at the time. She was gutzy enough to tell us about it later. We were talking about minor tip overs at the time and laughing at our mistakes.
ouch! fell over, that's not good. i can see why that would happen though. when i was riding with floorboards, i kept thinking that my foot was already on the brake...well, it wasn't...much to my dismay. made for some very jerky stops with my wife on the back. i can see the comfort factor on a long ride, but i would still rather my pegs with maybe a well placed set of highway bars.
I have the highway pegs on my front crash bars, but they're just far enough away that they are uncomfortable to use. The previous owner had them put on. I'm a little shorter then she is. Plus, I'm not comfortable with my feet up there. I also need a short riser for my handlebars, because I'm having to lean a little too far forward for those too. I just have to make these adjustments a little at a time. Especially when all these things aren't cheap, lol.
Give me about 5 years and my bike will be a dream ride. But it's great as it is right now. You and all the other bikers know how we all like to customize our bikes to fit us better.
I'm going to try and get in to see the finished version when at my daughters house... we will see
