When I thought of this week's theme "Soft," our dog Herbie came to mind. His fur is very soft and many people have commented on how soft his fur is. It surprises them that he is so soft.
Herbie is a cool dog. He's part Golden Lab and Basset Hound. He has the lab body and the basset legs. God does have a sense of humor. Herbie about the cutest dog there is. When he's laying down, people don't notice the legs and think we have a lab. That is till he jumps up, lol.

You just want to cuddle with a pooch like Herbie LOL - thanks for stopping by.
Bless his heart... God does have a sense of humor.. what a precious pooch.. soft and pudgy and huggable.
I saw a puppy that was the product of a chihuahua and a chow.... the mom was the chow thank goodness. This little thing was the size of a chihuahua with a thick mane around its neck... looked just like a very tiny lion.
I have never seen a dog like Herbie. His fur does look very soft. Thank you for featuring him this Saturday--perfect :)
Have a blessed weekend.
Oh herbie is so cute! He looks a bit like a seal!(in a nice way, i mean). You will to do a video clip so we can see him running about.
Lovely Soft Photo!
Ha, ha, ha, only by looking at Herbie I have to laugh ! He is so sweet a real sympathic dog and the name really suits him ! He looks like if he had a very good appetite ! I love dogs like this they are the real good once and not these sophisticated breed dogs !
Awww, Herbie looks adorable! He does look very lab-like, until you see his legs. What a cutie!
Wow he's a cutie. What a face - so happy. He looks soft too. Great pick for The Hunt!
Herbie is so cute!!! He looks like he is laughing in the picture...Give him a hug for me.
Take care,
Connie
Thanks for stopping by.
Awww, he looks not only soft but like a real pal.
Happy saturday!
I am usually afraid of woofies, but I like Herbie. I think I could outrun him if he decided to chase me. He is cute, too.
Oh, he does look soft and cuddly!!!
Happy Weekend.
Herbie is probably one of the cutest dogs there is! What a cool lineage he has, I'm glad you explained it coz I was curious as soon as I saw him.... It makes me wonder though, his mom must have been the basset hound? unless his dad was a tall basset hound and his mom was a short lab....sorry I don't know why I think of stuff like that! Happy hunting :D
What a cutie! Love that little tongue stickin' out!
awww, what a sweetie pie!
smiles, bee
AWWWWW, I love goldens! Our dog is part beagle and part basset! Wonderful disposition. Great picture.
Have a wonderful weekend. I'm up at My Photo Blog
How incredibly cute is he and I can just imagine how soft he is! That would be so funny to see people's reaction when he gets up! lol The best of both worlds!
Herbie is very cute! And his fur looks very soft. :) He looks like a sweet woofie!
Herbie looks like he's great to snuggle up on the couch with!
I've never seen a lab/basset mix. He is a sweetie- I love the expression on his face. He looks like a terrific cuddler too.
So cute, makes me smile!
I have never seen a dog like Herbie before! What a unique combinatin! Of course the thing I'm most curious about is - does he drool like basset hounds do? My parents had one and she was the drooliest things ever to walk the earth but a great dog nonetheless!
Herbie is a cutie! He looks so sweet and friendly!!
Thanks for visiting me :)
Awwwwwwwwww, Herbie is adorable!!!
My SOFT bunny is posted for this week.
Nice to meet you, Herbie! You surely do look soft (and sweet).
He looks soft and cuddly and friendly!
Well Bless his heart that he has such a kind owner as you!! We who love animals I think are just special people in God's world. We take care of these great animals. Some people would not take care of this cute little guy of yours but you are special to love him as you do. Mine is up today too but not as cute as yours...Sandy
Herbie looks pretty awesome! Thanks for visiting me and I hope you and Herbie both have a great week.
:-)
Awww...what a cute dog. Animals are so soft and cuddly. Come see my soft place.
I dont think Ive senn that combination before! I didnt realize his legs before I read it! I thought he just looked a bit chubby! Great picture! Mines up!
He looks wonderfully soft, and that is a great example of god's sense of humor!
Shows you have a big SOFT spot in your heart -- your love for this pooch!
cheers,
mo

Herbie is the perfect choice for this weeks theme of soft! What an adorable dog!
What a great dog! We have a friend who has a dog that is part basset hound part rotti! When he sits in the window, he scares people coming to the house...until they see that he really has more bark than bite, I mean height!
Herbie is absolutely irrestible and I suppose his mix is rather unique. Understand why you presented him under the theme Soft.
Great entry.

Herbie is one cool dog! You're lucky to have a great dog. Have a great week!
Dang, that dog is definitely not missing any meals! LOL!
Oh what a beautiful dog.....looks very soft and cuddly....
Thank you everyone who has visited and is still to visit. Herbie is definitely unique. We think he's special and he does love to cuddle. We adopted him 7 1/2 years ago from the Cheyenne, WY animal shelter. We were his 3rd owner.
After we had him a while we could see why, lol. He would chew anything in sight and really tried our patients for years, lol. It wasn't till he was about 5-6 years old that he finally stopped it, most of the time.
He's 8 1/2 years old now and he has gained some weight. We have to measure his food and feed him only three times a day. He only drools when he sees one of us eating something he thinks he should have.
Everyone have a great weekend,
Biker Betty :)
Herbie looks like you would just want to put your arms around him and give him a cuddle.
He sure is a cutie, love those short legs!!!
Happy Saturday!
So soft indeed, what a cute doggy!! Have a great weekend and thank you for visiting us as well.
He is so cute!
Herbie is the cutest thing. We saw a dog built like him at PetsMart a few months ago and still regret that we didn't adopt him.
He looks like a real softie too :)
Herbie is a cool dog, indeed! Puppy hugs to you both!!
I finally have my "soft" picture posted!
You could make a whole new breed from Herbie, what an unusual dob. Great picture for the hunt.
What an unusual combo of breeds ... but he's very handsome :)
Mine's up too :)
he looks like a rug on wheels.. ha ha ha ha....
I miss my dog.
What a cutie. Have a great week Betty.
Oh wow! He's the second dog like him that I've seen. My nephew used to have a Black Lab / Basset Hound cross that looked just like Herbie only black (of course). We had no idea what he was exactly, but that was always our best guess. LOL
(I have several blogs, so to narrow it down my Photo Hunters picture is on my A Writer's Life blog.)
He is SO cute and looks like the perfect target for a big hug :)
I'm hoping to get my motorcycle license this spring so I can go out riding with my Dad - he's got a Harley and mom's got a Buell that she never rides, so I'm thinking I'll sequester her bike and enjoy the road :)
Herbie is a very cool looking dog. I bet he's really soft too. Have a great weekend!
Awesome looking dog. I'll take your word that he is soft.
What a great dog! A Lab and Bassett Hound mix....I love it! Does he bark like a Lab or a Bassett?
sooooo cute, specially with those short legs! lol :)
Thanks again for all the nice comments. Herbie is such a huggable dog. But he does make the perfect watch dog for our family. He scares people with his ferocious bark.
Sarch, he mainly barks like a lab. When he's upset and thinks he's being left out of fun he will howl like a hound dog, lol.
Herbie is a cute dog and he has a friendly face. He looks really unique in an adorable way. Thanks for sharing.
Something peaceful about your dog in that picture, him chew, never. . . Glad he finally outgrew it.
