~ It Was Another Great Day For A Ride ~

It was a wonderful day and I didn't get called in to work today. I have a friend who lives up in the mountains and I needed to get something to her. Seems like great ingredients to ride, but then, who really needs a reason? It was 46 degrees, but I had to wear my winter gloves and put the liner back into my jacket. Going up into the mountains always gets chilly at this time of year. On my way was the Garden of the Gods. I thought it would be neat to stop and get a few photos. This is one of my favorite places to hike and climb. It has a great visitors center that I have visited in the past. Today I just stopped for some photos and then got on my way.

It was a great drive up Hwy 24. At 10:30 am there wasn't much traffic. It was a very enjoyable drive, but I was glad I had worn my warmer gear. I was comfortable because of it. I got the stuff delivered, had a nice visit and lunch. By the time I got back to the Springs the temperature was in the mid 60's F.

I drove 61 miles, visited a friend and thoroughly enjoyed my V-Star 650. What more can a person ask for?

Wishing you travel adventures in your part of the world,

Biker Betty :)

I like to visit Garden of the Gods at sunup, when there's nobody there except a few joggers.

I envy you...

I have been to the Garden of the Gods a few times, and if there is anyplace outside of Texas I would move its there.

I have never had the opportunity to ride there.

Who knows, someday I might.

Sounds like you had a good time! It's always nice to get a day off and have a chance to do what you enjoy most.

I'm right there with ya Betty.
Fantastic pictures! You live in a beautiful area of our country. A motorcycle heaven I'd have to say.

Glad you're getting some good riding in.

Spring is here my friend. Do you hear the collective cheer of motorcyclists everywhere?!

Hi Harleyghost, Thanks for stopping by and yes, it sure was a lot of fun. The mountain pass has some very nice twisties that are fun to drive.

Hi Donna, I have been wanting to get there at sunrise one morning in the summertime. I can just imagine how pretty it is.

Hi Gerry, Garden of the Gods is very breath-taking in person. The photos I take just doesn't do it justice. Hopefully one day you get a chance to ride there. It's a fun ride through the park on a motorcycle.

Hi Roadbum, Hang in there, some good riding days are coming soon. We still aren't out of winter ourselves. We should get a few more snowfalls before June and then we are in the rain and thunder/lightening season, sigh.

Hi Dawn, I can't imagine that it's not pretty where you are at. Sorry to hear that his motorcycle group has been having some police problems.

Hi Vinod, Thanks for stopping by. I know you have been looking at buying another motorcycle. Have you decided yet?

Hi Giest, Hang tight, spring should be here soon. Right now Colorado weather is nice, but we will still get a few more snows before June is said and done. It's always hard to know when to plant our flowers because of that.

Hi Moonraker, Thank you for the nice comments. I'm very glad you enjoy reading my blog. I will pop over and say hi later this week. I see that you are in the UK. My husband and I spent three years in England while he was in the Air Force. We loved it.

Hi Sarch, I can't wait for summer. I'm just glad the snow has let up for a bit. Spring for us just means more snow that usually melts quicker, lol. The roads here in Colorado are great for riding, but I know there are great roads in other states as well. I do hear those motorcycle engines reving in anticipation of summer.

Thanks to everyone for stopping by and have a great day.

I haven't been to the Garden of the Gods since, well, the 1960's. Always thought it was a cool place. Bet it's even better on a bike!

Hi Susan,
Thanks for stopping by. It's hard to say if the Garden is better now. I imagine the trails are better, as they have worked hard over the years to improved them. But it's all probably more commercialized more.
