Round Robin Challenge: Railroad

Many of you know me and photo challenges, I Love THEM!!! I found this one thru a link over at Nekked Lizard Adventures. This person is a Coloradian like myself. From there was the link to the Round Robin. Thought I'd have to try this. It's new to me. Gina at Gina’s Spacecame up with the idea for this challenge. Great idea Gina :)

Who doesn't like trains? I don't have any recent photos, but this was was taken two summers ago (2006) when I was doing the Mountain Shadow Riders motorcycle scavenger hunt. I didn't win this contest, but I was one of the upper four people. It was so much fun. The above photo was taken on the road between Cripple Creek and Victor. Talk about a beautiful drive. That train looks like Thomas the Tank Engine (which I loved to watch when my eldest was 4 years old). It's actually the Victor Narrow Gage Line. I have not had a chance to ride it, but it sure looks like fun.

The above is a sample of the views in store with the Victor train. Far out on the horizon is a bunch of the famous Colorado 14ers.

For the same scaventer hunt I also got a photo of the diner car of the train that goes to another famous Colorado tourist location: The Royal Gorge. As a family we went there in our car many years ago and really enjoyed ourselves.

So hop on the train and visit others participating in this challenge.

Biker Betty :)

Hello, Betty, nice to meet you! Welcome to the group. What a pretty little train, and from such a unique angle. It looks like the ride offers some spectacular views, too.

Thanks for stopping by mine, and for your nice comment!

NLL told me he met someone else from Colorado! How are ya?? Love your pictures of the trains. We keep meaning to get up to Cripple Creek and do the Narrow Gauge...maybe this year. And the Royal Gorge Train is our favorite spot nearby to take friends and family. We even splurged one year and did the dinner train. Sweet ride!

Hi, Betty, and welcome to the Robins! I love the juxtaposition of you and your bike and your leathers with the trains above and behind. The first one is so colorful (you're right: very Thomas!), and the other one is also colorful and very iconic with the lettering. Very cool!

I have a scooter, not a motorcycle, and it's been mothballed since a hit and run driver broke a lot of the plastic parts including one of the hand brakes. But I'm thinking of investing in repairs....

Betty what beautiful pictures. We usually try to take a trip every summer to picnic near the 14ers. I can't wait to see them again.
Have a wonderful week - jovi

Great pictures! If you like this kind of thing then you'll probably get a kick out of Markeroni and the Markeroni Challenge (http://www.markeroni.com is the main site). You pick whether you want to find 25, 50 or 100 historical markers and you go find them and take a pic with your mascot or you in it. It's amazing the stuff you find. :)

Love the bike and the trains! I wish I had the nerve to learn to ride (the bike, not the train, LOL). I'm new to the Round Robin this week too. Hope to see you around again next time.

Great pictures! I love your blog, but don't come by often because it never fails to lock my computer up. I get frustrated after trying a couple times. Today it loaded. Hope you get to ride soon.....I have 2 blogs and work full time, and it's a juggle, but somehow I squeeze everything in. I love it. Hope you have more time to blog this year.

Thanks again for stopping by and I have visited you.

To Bikerchickz (and others with similiar problem), I made some changes to my blog that allows it to load much quicker. It shouldn't lock your computer anymore.
