Saturday's Scavenger Hunt
Join the blogroll. Visit participants.
Come and join the fun!!!

This Saturday's Theme is "Window"

Glass Eye House, Leadville, Colorado

Look at the window way above the front door on the roof. If you click on the picture you will see it better. If you see an eye, you're right!! This was one of the items to find on the MSR Scavanger Hunt. I did the research and found out it's in Leadville, CO and got general directions to find it, but boy was it hard to find. I must of passed this house at least 3 times!! My riding partner found it for me, thanks Debbie. This house is a famous landmark in Leadville.

I was here after having done the Colorado Springs Harley Davidson Pikes Peak HOG 5in1 Run this past summer. That was a blast. We did 5 mountain passes in one day and it ended near Leadville. Myself and a few other Mountain Shadow Riders spent the night in Leadville and then headed back home the next day. On this next day I had decided to find some scavanger hunt items that were in Leadville before heading home.

So this picture ended up being a "double" scavanger hunt photo. First for the Mountain Shadow Riders scavanger hunt and now for the Saturday's Scavanger Hunt. What fun!! In the end, I did two separate runs to Leadville for Scavanger Hunt items. But later I discovered there was still one more thing in Leadville and I never got a chance to go back and get it, sigh.

Thanks for visiting and I wish you many travel adventures in your part of the world,

Betty :)

That sounds like fun! I wonder what the story is behind the window. Reminds me of the Lemony Snicket stories.

That is a VERY strange window indeed. I don't know if I would like it in my house though, a bit creepy?

Leadville has some of the most beautiful scenery in the whole country. I've never figured out why the town hasn't thrived ... oh wait, maybe it has something to do with those mountain passes. Your picture is great.

What an awesome picture for this weeks theme.

You know -- you are living my dream. Maybe one of these days I will get a motorcycle and travel around the country and take pictures of the cool things I see...

Have a wonderful and blessed weekend.

That is an interesting way to make a house unique. The scavenger hunt sounds like it was a lot of fun. I would love to do something like that...maybe I can start one for Texas. Have a great weekend!

Scavanger hunts were real fun among bikers in the old days, now they have been replaced by the popular poker runs. I would like to have some more scavanger hunts though.
