Photo Hunt - Bridge(s)

Theme: Bridge(s) ** Become a Photo Hunter

This is the highest bridge on the Colorado State Highway System. It crosses Areque Gulch. It is just outside Victor, Colorado on Highway 67 and was built in 2000-2001. It is 250 Feet tall at its highest point.

You are not allowed to park on the bridge. Only on either end and walk out to take your photos of the view. Here we are parked at one end to get our photos.

Here is a view from the middle of the bridge of the Sangre De Cristo Mountain Range. It is a lot of fun riding the motorcycles up here. It's a day trip up and back. Even in the summer, it can be chilly up in these mountains and we must bring our winter gear with us. Sometimes we don't need the winter gear and sometimes we do. All year long we must be prepared for cold and hot weather.

Wishing you fun travels in your part of the world,
Biker Betty :)
PS: I have a special spot on my sidebar for Saturday Photo Hunt links. Let me know if you want to link to me and I link to you. Please only request if you are willing to link too. Thank you :)

Well it is not very wide so it would be a shambles since everyone wants to take a photo there I'm sure.

Good choice Betty. Happy weekend to you.

Hi Biker Betty ~ You have a very nice blog. Got some excellent photos too. I'm also a Christian and a motorcyclist and live in SE Georgia. I've been riding for many years. My current ride is a 2007 Suzuki V-Strom 650. Husband (of almost 30 yrs) rides a 2007 Triumph Tiger 1050. It's our therapy!!

BTW, I found your blog from Linda's "Life's Calling, Who's This?" (aka Chicken Soup).

Nice meeting ya! Come by and visit sometime and we'll talk motorcycles. :o)

God bless y'all,
Pamela (aka Sparky) ♥ ∞

I admire you for your biking adventures. I ride a bike, but a four wheel kind. I've had a quad since about 2003 and love to ride on the logging roads and trails in Powell River. If you visit my blog click on ATV and you can see some of my adventures. - Margy

That's the kind of bridge I see most often. In fact, I crossed a couple of them today.

I just start to have this idea of learning to ride a bike and across bridges. That would be fun!

Great pictures. Reminds me a little of riding through the mountains on I-80 in Pennsylvania. When did you do this ride? You folks out there are having winter too aren't you, lol!

Hi everyone,

Thanks for the visit.

Joker,
I should have said in my post that it was taken a few summers ago. I did ride this a couple of times last summer, but I didn't stop for pictures that I already had on a previous trip. You're right, we had snow on the roads at the time of this post. Right now we are in the 60's and I rode to college yesterday it was so nice.

According to me your photo hunt is very nice. I like to ride the bikes in the highest point and i think Colorado State Highway is the best for me to ride my bike.

This is one of the best things about riding a motorcycle: you can go anywhere you want where there’s beautiful scenery. Do you often take a motorcycle ride in Sangre De Cristo Mountain Range? How’s the road there? What’s the best type of bike to bring there? Do you have any suggestions?
