This is the highest bridge on the Colorado State Highway System. It crosses Areque Gulch. It is just outside Victor, Colorado on Highway 67 and was built in 2000-2001. It is 250 Feet tall at its highest point.
You are not allowed to park on the bridge. Only on either end and walk out to take your photos of the view. Here we are parked at one end to get our photos.
Here is a view from the middle of the bridge of the Sangre De Cristo Mountain Range. It is a lot of fun riding the motorcycles up here. It's a day trip up and back. Even in the summer, it can be chilly up in these mountains and we must bring our winter gear with us. Sometimes we don't need the winter gear and sometimes we do. All year long we must be prepared for cold and hot weather.
Wishing you fun travels in your part of the world,
Biker Betty :)

Mountain Retreat
Well it is not very wide so it would be a shambles since everyone wants to take a photo there I'm sure.
Good choice Betty. Happy weekend to you.
What a great view from the bridge and great photos, too. Colorado is a beautiful state.
You can find mine here:
JyLnC's Photo Hunt. Stop by and check it out if you have time.
Hi Biker Betty ~ You have a very nice blog. Got some excellent photos too. I'm also a Christian and a motorcyclist and live in SE Georgia. I've been riding for many years. My current ride is a 2007 Suzuki V-Strom 650. Husband (of almost 30 yrs) rides a 2007 Triumph Tiger 1050. It's our therapy!!
BTW, I found your blog from Linda's "Life's Calling, Who's This?" (aka Chicken Soup).
Nice meeting ya! Come by and visit sometime and we'll talk motorcycles. :o)
God bless y'all,
Pamela (aka Sparky) ♥ ∞
I admire you for your biking adventures. I ride a bike, but a four wheel kind. I've had a quad since about 2003 and love to ride on the logging roads and trails in Powell River. If you visit my blog click on ATV and you can see some of my adventures. - Margy
Beautiful mountain shots and I love the whole scene you shot with the bridge and the sky. Looks like you had a perfect day.
That's the kind of bridge I see most often. In fact, I crossed a couple of them today.
your bike trip pics reminds me of the travel series Long Way Down/Around.
250 feet high?! WOW! The view is spectacular and grand... That is biker's haven I'm sure. :-)
Beautiful bridge in the mountains. Looks like a great place for riding your bike.
I just start to have this idea of learning to ride a bike and across bridges. That would be fun!
Great shots from a beautiful day and a fantastic bridge and view :)
Have a nice day :)
I missed photo hunt yesterday so I'm peaking at everyone's bridges. My goodness girl I'm afraid of heights. Beatiful view and pictures!!
Oh, what a gorgeous view from that bridge! Beautiful shots and it looks like that would be fun to ride up there!
I noted the fluffy cloud formations in all three photos.
Looks like it was a great day for riding and snapping a few pics. Beautiful images, Betty. Keep it up!
Cheers,
Lucky
Great pictures. Reminds me a little of riding through the mountains on I-80 in Pennsylvania. When did you do this ride? You folks out there are having winter too aren't you, lol!
Hey there Betty,
You got picked for the Fabulous Blog Award! Check my latest entry out.
Hi everyone,
Thanks for the visit.
Joker,
I should have said in my post that it was taken a few summers ago. I did ride this a couple of times last summer, but I didn't stop for pictures that I already had on a previous trip. You're right, we had snow on the roads at the time of this post. Right now we are in the 60's and I rode to college yesterday it was so nice.
I just happen to find your blog, very nice pics. What camera do you use?

Those are beautiful photos! The last one shows a magnificent view.
Awesome pictures. I have been on that road in a car, but not a bike, yet.
You've got a great blog there keep it up. I'll be watching out for most posts.
According to me your photo hunt is very nice. I like to ride the bikes in the highest point and i think Colorado State Highway is the best for me to ride my bike.
This is one of the best things about riding a motorcycle: you can go anywhere you want where there’s beautiful scenery. Do you often take a motorcycle ride in Sangre De Cristo Mountain Range? How’s the road there? What’s the best type of bike to bring there? Do you have any suggestions?
