This Saturday's Theme is "Safe"

When motorcycling, I do feel safer when I wear all my protective gear. I never drive my motorcycle without my helmet with visor, motorcycle jacket with armor, leather pants (what I'm wearing in this photo) or leather chaps, hightop leather boots and leather gloves. My fellow riding companions can vouch to the fact that even in the summer heat I do wear all this.

Motorcycling is a very fun way to get around. If you have never tried it, you must sometime. I did take the Motorcycle Safety Foundation (MSF) Beginners course before buying my motorcycle. I think it's the best way to see if this sport is for you. This course helps you to understand how a motorcycle works and how to safely ride it. It helps you to buy the right kind of safety gear and what to look for in buying a motorcycle. I can't say enough great things about this course.

Wishing you adventurous travels in your part of the world, Betty :)

You look great! What a gorgeous bike! That safety equipment has got to be really hot in the summer but one day it might just save your life! :)

Betty this is a really cool shot! You sure do look hot in all those trappings but once the wind starts to blow I am sure you hardly notice! Great shot!

You sure look like your ready to have some fun and also very 'safe'!

I agree with the helmet...I always get so scared for people when I see them riding without one! =)

I'm SO glad your wear your gear. The hubby spent years as a firefighter, and some of those as a paramedic.

He has described to be the difference between a leathered-up motorcycle accident and someone in jeans.

It's great to see someone wearing all the needed protective gear. I see people on motorcycles all the time without the proper stuff, and I always feel so scared for the person. Have a great weekend!

That's a great representation of the theme. Many, many years ago, I rode on the back of a bike from western Virginia to the eastern shore of Maryland (partly in the rain). It was fun.

Mine is up too.

Good for you to always wear the helmet. That gear looks so hot and confining, but necessary.

Looks like you have a lot of fun.

Great photo and great take on this week's theme. (thought it was a tough one)

I remember listening to a paramedic friend talk about what happens to folks to take a slip without this kind of gear on. Didn't sound too pretty.

Definitely better to be "safe!"

You're an amazing woman! :-)

I agree with you - I think more people should wear protective gear when motorcycling...with all the crazy car drivers out there - poor motorcyclists are so vulnerable to injury...I think the protective clothing is so important. My ex husband was much like you---he wore his leathers, boots, gloves, helmet, visor all the time, year round. I'm glad he did too.

Thank you for stopping by my blog! Come visit anytime!

Enjoy your bike - and be safe out there :-)

You're doing everything right to really enjoy your bike, but I'm still just scared to death of them.

that's great you are thinking when you ride. I like to see that and hate seeing so many stupid men thinking they are cool riding... thanks for stopping by.

You look like one hot "safe" biker babe!!! Great picture!

Have a great rest of the weekend!

Wow, you have some serious gear. I think that is terrific but so well worth it, even if it is hot in the summer.

Great take on the theme! Glad to see you protect yourself. It is important to be safe. I see people riding without anything - not even helmets (the law doesn't require them in our state) and it makes me nervous. I don't think I could ride with nothing between me and the pavement.

great looking bike! hope the weather let up so you could ride some this weekend :) thanks for stopping by!

All I have to say is good for you!!! They passed a law in my state now that you don't have to wear a helmet any longer and it drives me crazy.. my hubby is a fire fighter and I can't even begin to tell you how many accidents he has been to since they changed that law with people who weren't wearing their helmet! You look very safe and I believe thats how it should be!
