Another Type Of Scavenger Hunt

Join the blogroll. Visit participants.
"On the Road"

Scavenger hunts are so much fun. I found this and decided to join in the fun. I haven't got all the links attached, but hope to by next Saturday's Scavenger Hunt.

Here is my "On The Road." I am on the road in Garden of the God's in Colorado. Pikes Peak mountain is in the background. Who would believe that I'm on the edge of a city.

Side Note added 9/3/06: Katharine Lee Bates wrote the lyrics to America the Beautiful after an inspiring trip to the top of Pikes Peak in 1893.

Wendy's Whimsies is holding her monthly casting call. Go and check it out fast, before it ends.

That's a gorgeous photo. I love to see mountains in the background, where I am now is so flat compared to where I grew up. Just beautiful.

thank for your visit! I'll see ya next weekend. :)

I love your pictures with the mountains in the backgroud! Such beautiful shots!

I'm so glad you're doing the Photo Hunt! It is so much fun to see everyone's photos. Plus you make so many friends!

Hope you are having a good weekend and riding safe! Patt will get his bike back in a couple of weeks and he can't wait to get back on the road. As long as he has all his leather on ~ he's been told not to leave this yard without them esp after we just bought leather pants and had to get a new helmet since the accident :)

Have a good one and I'll see ya soon!

I love the name, "Biker Betty" --I'm reminded of a funny story. My sister Betty is one of a kind, who had a motorcycle too. One Easter, the church ladies had a "Ladies Tea" and were offering a prize for the best Easter bonnet. Betty wore here motorcycle helmet with a fancy church dress, and won!

Keep riding, Betty!

This picture is awesome. I LOVE the mountians as the backdrop...Welcome to the hunt and thanks for stopping by :)

How awesome is that! You look very rough and tough on your bike, and nothing can stop you. It's just you, your bike, and the open trail through the mountains. Vroom, vroom, baby!

Strangely enough, (and I'm sure you'll find this hard to believe!) I too visited the Garden of the Gods and Pike's Peak. If you're curious, you can read this for proof!

Hi Tricia, Thanks. I love that I can see the moutains from my house (if I look out the right window, lol).

Hi Dawn, Watching you do the Photo Hunt looked like so much fun that I had to try it. Kind of down my alley, since I'm doing something similiar with my motorcycle riding group.

Hi Goofy Girl, A photo can never go wrong when taken at Garden of the Gods. It was a beautiful day that day.

Hi Darlene, Thank you for sharing your story about your sister Betty. I got quite a chuckle. My church had a had day for the ladies, maybe I should have worn my helmet too, lol.

Hi Presentstorm, thanks for stopping by, too.

Hi Zeus, I read about your visit here. You had quite an adventure here at Garden of the Gods and the Air Force Acadamy. That fighter jet ride looked like fun.

Hello Biker Betty. Thank you for visiting my blog. I'm glad you liked it. Don't feel bad about your dog not letting you have a Cat. I wouldn't let my humans have a dog either.

Hi Rascal, Thanks for stopping by for a visit.

Hi Melli, Thanks about the bike. I love it myself. My hats off to you. Many won't even ride on the back of a motorcycle. They are missing a lot of fun. :)

I'm back again! Came from Wendy's. Oh I'm so jealous that you can see the mountains from your windows. sniff sniff :(

Bright idea ... maybe I'll paste mountain landscape posters to my windows so that everytime I look at them I'll see mountains? What do you think?

Hi Pass the Torch, Yes this is a great place and I'm close to lots of other great places.

Hi Valerie, Thanks and thanks for the visit.

Hi again Tricia, or you can take an old window frame, mount a picture of mountains in it, hang it on the wall and place curtains on both sides. Walla, a new window with a view!!!

Hi Tanya, Wow, three bikes. Also, my hats off to you for going back to college. That is something I have been thinking about, but lazy to do. Plus I have a son in college already (that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it!! LOL).

Isn't Wendy's Casting Call fun?

Hi Kailani, sorry to hear you're having internet problems. Hopefully it doesn't last long.

Hi Tammy and Parker, Thanks for stopping by. That is so neat that you have such a view of mountains.

Hi again Raschal, You and I are running around in circles, lol. I hope you're having as much fun as me. Try a motorcycle, you might get around faster, lol,

Hello Biker Betty!
Wow, it is great to know that someone else in Colorado knows of Wendy!
Lately I have been thinking about getting a scooter to save on gas to and from work, but am not sure how that would work out in the wintertime here in the Springs. I don't think I could actually handle a bike like you have but wow, I am glad that you can do it!
BTW, Wendy directed me here today.

How did you happen to stumble upon that?

I love to post to each individual person, but there was a ton of postings in the last couple of hours.

To my Motorcycle Bloggers, I've been having fun doing a "Casting Call" at http://wendyswhimsies.blogspot.com/ which is also in my right sidebar under "Other Blogs." I've never done this before, so it's hard to explain. It's just fun to do and I've made some more blogging friends.

Some of the earlier posts were by people with the Saturday Scavenger Hunt. Lots of fun too.

Wishing Fun Adventures to all,
Betty :)

I am so jealous, I grew up and started riding in Maine where there is some beautifull mountians and wonderful places to ride just 30 minutes away and now I live in Michigan and yes there are wonderful places to ride but I have to admit I miss the mountains and ocean.

The scavenger hunt sounds like a lot of fun.

Have a great weekend (what is left of it)

PS: hope your son starts to get more compfortable with dorm life...
